Charatan Cigars Debut at InterTabac 2024

InterTabac in Dortmund, Germany, marked a significant milestone for Charatan London as we proudly introduced our cigar range internationally for the very first time. Alongside a revitalised visual identity for our already popular pipe tobacco, we unveiled three new and elevated cigar blends: the Claro, Colorado, and Maduro.

Crafted with the British palate in mind and a global audience in sight, the new look and new range of products provide a refined experience at every level. A bold new chapter for Charatan, while respecting its profound heritage.

Introducing our new range

The Claro delivers a smooth and creamy profile, perfect for those who prefer a milder smoke with subtle nuances.

For those seeking something bolder, the Maduro provides a richer, darker expression with layers of cocoa, coffee and toasted wood.

The Colorado sits comfortably in the middle, offering a well-balanced experience with notes of earth, spice and sweetness.

Each cigar has been meticulously blended to offer a distinct experience whilst remaining true to Charatan’s heritage of quality and refinement.

New vitolas, because size matters

All three cigars are available in three vitolas:

Toro: The world’s most popular vitola around the globe.

Robusto: The world’s standard size for premium cigar, and the most memorable word in cigar culture.

Half-Churchill: A first in the world of cigars, this vitola offers precisely half of the globally known size named after Sir Winston Churchill. A shorter smoke for when enthusiasts can’t fully commit, this vitola also tackles the non-recommended cutting of long cigars in half. It prevents waste, unwanted unravelling, and provides the opportunity to ‘quickly’ jump from blend to blend.

The reception to the Half Churchill at InterTabac was overwhelmingly positive, with both retailers and aficionados praising its versatility. As the global cigar market continues to evolve, we’re proud to contribute something fresh and relevant to modern smokers.

A presence with extra sparkle

For our international cigar debut, we felt compelled to bring some flair to the cigar world. Alongside our new product launches, we introduced a very special guest named Sparkles by our warehouse team: our 8.5-foot unicorn mascot. If you prefer to measure things in cigars, that’s around 20 robustos tall.

Sparkles quickly became a favourite of the trade fair, drawing crowds to the Charatan stand and bringing smiles to every corner of the venue. In a world of dark wood and serious conversations, Sparkles reminded us that cigars are also about joy, celebration and creating unforgettable experiences.

Visitors posed for photos, shared laughs, and left with memories they won’t forget in a hurry.

On a more serious note, a giant prancing unicorn helped us tell the story and heritage of Charatan, as the mythical animal has been present in the brand since its inception in 1863, and is strongly linked to British culture, being part of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom.

Held annually in Dortmund, InterTabac is the largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories in the world. It brings together producers, distributors, retailers and enthusiasts from across the globe to showcase the latest innovations, forge new partnerships and celebrate the culture that surrounds fine tobacco.

For Charatan, InterTabac is more than just an exhibition, as it serves as a vital moment in our calendar where we connect with our international community, gather feedback, and share our vision for the future. The 2024 edition was vibrant, well-organised and brimming with fresh energy. Looking ahead to the UK launch

Though we were thrilled to present the Claro, Colorado and Maduro cigars to the international market at InterTabac 2024, UK cigar lovers will need to wait just a little longer. These new blends will officially launch in the UK in spring 2025, and we can’t wait to share them with our domestic audience.
