On Saturday 26th July 2025, Charatan will participate in Meet the Makers, the most prestigious gathering of cigar and whisky artisans ever seen in the UK. Organised by TOR and Robert Graham, this unmissable event is held within the majestic surroundings of Carlowrie Castle, an 18th-century Scottish Baronial masterpiece just outside Edinburgh.
A regal setting with panoramic views
Carlowrie Castle isn’t just beautiful; it’s genuinely cinematic. With its turrets, stone facades and sprawling 32-acre parkland set against the rolling green slopes of the Lothian countryside, it’s hard to imagine a more inspiring backdrop.
Picture yourself enjoying a hand-rolled cigar whilst gazing at ancient woodlands, or stepping out between sessions to soak up the Highland breeze. This is cigar appreciation elevated to a whole new level.
A unicorn at the heart of it

Members of our team will be on hand to guide aficionados through tasting sessions and share the stories behind our craftsmanship. With cigar royalty from more than a dozen high-profile tobacco brands also in attendance, it’s set to be a truly exceptional experience.
A day full of flavour
Starting with a series of engaging panels, the day unfolds with a light lunch and a Highland Games contest between the makers. In the evening, attendees will enjoy a Leaf & Malt Reception, a mouthwatering dinner, and a charity auction supporting Fe y Alegría in Estelí, Lothian Children’s Deaf Club, and the Yard Scotland. It truly is the perfect combination of luxury, camaraderie and community spirit.
