Wow! We believe in proving doubters wrong, but most importantly, in proving ourselves right - just like Frederick Charatan did 160 years ago.” added Vines.

About Charatan London

In the grand year of 1863, a gentleman by the name of Frederick Charatan graced bustling London with a boutique to delight the most discerning of tobacco enthusiasts. Nestled in Mansell Street, near the iconic Tower of London, a legacy of tradition, odes to flavours and enamouring smoke was born.

For 160 years, Charatan has been synonymous with the British love for exquisite tobacco in the form of premium hand-rolled cigars, pipe tobacco, and handcrafted pipes.

The Charatan family, led by Frederick and his son Salomon, steered Charatan's legacy until the 1960s when Dunhill Tobacco of London acquired the business. In the 1990s, Dunhill rekindled the Charatan cigar line, quickly becoming one of the best-selling Nicaraguan cigars in the UK to date. In 2017, Tor Imports Ltd acquired the Charatan cigar and pipe tobacco brands from Dunhill, committing to enhancing the product, expanding its offering and reinvigorating the brand and its British heritage.

The Charatan 160th Anniversary is a Limited Edition exclusive to the UK market, comprising only 250 Boxes of 16 cigars each. These masterpieces are expertly crafted by the most skilled artisans at Nicaragua's oldest cigar factory, Joya de Nicaragua.
